Stocks Gibo Chew Memorial 75 Contingency and Cash Awards Announced
Salem, IN (June 15, 2009)
–
 Champion
Racing Association Officials have announced the Contingency and Cash
Awards from this past Saturday’s CRA Street Stocks Gibo Chew
Memorial 75 event at Mt. Lawn Speedway. In order to receive the
awards, the car owner and driver must be licensed series members and
properly display each sponsors stickers on both sides of their
racecar. The $1240 in total awards listed below is in addition to
the events purse payout.

-
Jason
Thompson
came
back
to Mt.
Lawn
Speedway
for
the
second
CRA
Street
Stock
race
at the
famed
speedway
for
the
Gibo
Chew
Memorial
75
Saturday
night.
He
started
on the
outside
of the
front
row,
took
the
lead
on the
second
lap
and
was
never
seriously
challenged
as he
dominated
the
race.
A
native
of
nearby
Shirley,
IN Thompson showed the way around his home
track,
with
the
racing
for
second
through
fifth
tight.
Knightstown’s
Jeff
Lane
finished
second,
Chuck
Cook,
New
Castle,
third,
Joe
Beaver
fourth
and
Lewisville’s
Calvin
Parham
fifth.
"It
helped
starting
up
front,
but
the
car
was
great,
it was
really
good
for
the
race."
Thompson
commented.
"I
need
to say
thank
you to
my
Dad,
brothers,
TCI,
Dave
Pigg,
and
the
crowd
that
came
out
tonight.
This
is my
home
track
and I
love
coming
back
for a
race."

Hopkins Wins Dash, Matillo, Boyer, Thompson Win Heats
Brian
Hopkins beat a tough group of drivers to win the Razzles Dash for
the CRA Street Stocks. Larry Matillo took the first heat, with
Rich Boyer winning the second and Jason Thompson the third.

Joe Beaver Sets New Track Record
Joe Beaver set a new track record for the CRA Street Stocks at Mt.
Lawn Speedway with a time of 17.417, Jeff Lane was second at 17.533,
Brian Hopkins third, Bret Miles, Jr. fourth and Calvin Parham fifth.
Eight drivers broke the old track record set by Jeff Lane in 2006.

Tim Dilg was the fastest Vore's Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compact in
qualifying and moved through the field quickly to take the lead on
the 15th lap, and held on to win the
Vore's Welding and
Steel CRA FWD Compacts Vs.
Mt.
Lawn Hornets Challenge.
Jeff Holiday took the early lead and stayed there until the 10th lap
when Freddie Marlow passed him for the lead. Marlow could not
hold off Dilg for long with Dilg making his way around Marlow for
the final pass for the lead. Brian Lewis took second, Justin
Brown third, Kevin Claborn fourth and Freddie Marlow fifth.
With the win Dilg took the highest finishing CRA regular Clay
Abrell/Tim Brown Memorial Award. Justin Brown finished
third to take the second place award and with his sixth place finish
Rex Zimmerman took the third place award.

Open Practice
Announced
Mt. Lawn Speedway
officials announced an open practice on Thursday, June 11 from 3pm
to dark in preparation for the Gibo Chew Memorial 75 on Saturday,
June 13. Pit passes will cost $10. This race will be the
second trip to Mt. Lawn for the CRA Street Stocks, with Joe Beaver
the winner of the previous event in 2006.

Wood
started
on the
inside

row

lap race
at Baer
Field
and hung
on to
win a
close
race
over
Jason
Thompson.
Wood
chased
Danny
Acrey II
from the
first
lap
until he
was able
to drive
past
Acrey on
the 22
lap.
He also
pulled a
few cars
with
him,
cars
that
chased
him
until
the end.
Thompson
could
get
beside
Wood,
but
could
not get
around
him with
Wood
hanging
on just
ahead of
Thompson
to the

crashing

Impact Racing Continues To Support CRA For 2009
Salem, IN (April 9, 2009) – Impact Racing, the Motorsports
safety equipment company started by Bill Simpson, has agreed to
continue its support of the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Late Model
Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks for the 2009 season. This will
be the seventh consecutive season that Impact Racing has been a

CRA, has signed on

Champion Racing Association officials have announced that AFCO Racing
Products has returned as a supporter of both the CRA Super Series and

Champion Racing Association officials have announced that ARP Bodies
will continue their support
of the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Late

2009 race season and will also support the new CRA Super Series South
which has it’s first event on Saturday, April 4th at the

Updates
to
Schedules
of Three
Divisions

12,
2009) –
Baer
Field
Speedway
announced
earlier
this
week
that the
Champion
Racing
Association
(CRA)
slate of
races
scheduled
for
Saturday
September
26 has
been
moved to
Sunday
August
23. The
original
dates
had been
marked
as
tentative,
while
Speedway
officials
worked
on a
major
"non-racing",
full
facility
event
put on
by
Brooks
Construction.
With the
Brooks
Construction
event
finalized,
track
and
series
officials
worked
together
to move
the
racing
events
to the
new
Sunday
date in
August.
There
will not
be any
stock
car
racing
on the
Saturday
night
before
the new
date.
