DMR Motorsports to Sponsor at the Track Web Updates From Gresham Saturday

 

Salem, IN (March 11, 2010) – CRA Super Series officials have announced that DMR Motorsports will be the sponsor of the At The Track Web Updates for the CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour Gresham 125 at Gresham Motorsports Park this Saturday. The event will also be the season opener for Gresham Motorsports Park, formally know as Peach State Speedway, which went through a multi-million dollar renovation last year, and is now one of the premier short tracks in the country. Gresham Motorsports Park has announced that the rain date for Saturday's CRA Super Series Gresham 125 event will be Sunday, March 14th. Every effort will be made to get the event in on Saturday, March 13th, but if necessary the event will be ran on Sunday afternoon. Special Event Awards Announced for CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour

 

Salem, IN (March 10,2010) – CRA officials have announced several special event awards with the CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour, which begins this Saturday at Gresham Motorsports Park. The Tour events will also include the CRA All-Star Twin 150’s Weekend on May 21 at Tri-County Motor Speedway and May 23rd at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina, a return trip to Gresham Motorsports Park on July 17th and the North/South Shootout at Concord Speedway in North Carolina on November 6th. Jason Hogan Looking for a Jump Start to 2010 Season at Gresham

 

Cleveland, GA (March 8, 2010) - Jason Hogan is looking to jump start his 2010 season. After going into Speedfest at his home track, Lanier National Speedway, just thirty miles from his shop with much optimism, it all went away before it even got started with mechanical problems.

 

This weekend, Hogan will look to get his season righted at the newly renovated Gresham Motorsports Park. Hogan competed in the World Crown 300 last fall coming home with an eleventh place finish on the new lightning fast pavement at what used to be Peach State Speedway.  Click Here.

Mason Mingus ready to wrestle wheel of Super Late Model

CRA Announces Tire Dealers and Details for Top Three Divisions

 

Hoosier Tires to be only Tires Available at EVERY CRA Event

 

Salem, IN (March 3, 2010) – Officials from Champion Racing Association have announced the tire dealers and tire details for the 2010 racing season for the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks.

 

Clyde Moody will be the new tire dealer for the CRA Super Series events in the North. Teams can contact Moody at 706-878-7988 for any information on the CRA Super Series tires and to order practice tires or to pre-order race tires. The CRA Super Series will use the new Hoosier F 40’s and F 50’s at every event this season, the new tire was developed and tested by Hoosier late last season with tremendous success. CRA Offers Condolences to Bryant Family

 

Champion Racing Association offers our condolences to the Ricky Bryant Family and would ask you to remember them in your thoughts and prayers upon his passing.  Bryant, of the Five Flags Speedway (FL) family, passed away on Wednesday after a lengthy hospital stay.  He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bryant of Bryant Motorsports and also the brother of Five Flags Speedway promoter and General Manager Tim Bryant as well as Randy Bryant. 
 

Ford Racing and CRA Super Series Announce Partnership

 

New Super Late Model Engine Package & Separate Bonus Plan Highlight Announcement

 

Salem, IN (February 26, 2010) – CRA officials are pleased to announce that Ford Racing will partner with the CRA Super Series for the upcoming 2010 season with both the series regular tour and the CRA Southern Six-Pack Tour. Ford Racing has posted $11,000 in cash contingency awards for the 2010 season; this will be Ford Racing’s first involvement with CRA. Series racers using either a Ford Racing engine block, cylinder heads or Sealed Racing engine will be eligible for a $500 cash contingency payment for a win in any of the CRA Super Series events. John Long to Compete for CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year Honors

 

Salem, IN (February 25, 2010) – Niles, Michigan racer John Long has announced that he will compete full time with the CRA Super Series in 2010 with the goal of winning the 2010 CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year Award. Long competed in five series events in 2009, three point events and two non-point events, with a best finish of eighth at the September Baer Field Speedway event. CRA Super Series Voted Best Tour in Speed 51 Short Track Awards

 

Salem, IN (February 25, 2010) The CRA Super Series was voted the Best Tour Award in the Speed 51 Short Track Awards that were recently conducted by Speed 51.com, one of the leading short track web sites in the country. Speed51.com had fans and racers from all over the country vote on a broad range of awards the past couple of months through their web site and announced the first half of those award winners on last nights 51 Radio Show broadcasted live on RaceTalkRadio.com. TCI Automotive Bonus Program

 

2010 will be the third straight season that TCI Automotive has been a sponsor of the CRA Street Stocks. TCI will payout a $100 cash bonus to any team winning a CRA Street Stock event using a TCI Torque Converter or TCI Transmission or valve body for the transmission. TCI Automotive will payout a $50 bonus to any team finishing second in a CRA Street Stock event using a TCI Torque Converter or TCI Transmission.

 

If the winner and second place finishers do not qualify, then the next highest finishers using the TCI Automotive specified products would receive the bonuses. Teams will have to submit a TCI Automotive Contingency Form, at the beginning of the season or when they purchase TCI product, along with proof of purchase and have TCI decals in place on both sides of their racecar in order to receive a bonus. Last season TCI paid out almost $1500 in cash bonuses to CRA Street Stock competitors Jason Thompson and Carl Muffley.

Winchester, IN (February 23, 2010) – Winchester Speedway officials have announced that NASCAR legend Bill Elliott and his 14 year old son Chase, will be meeting fans and signing autographs at the May 2nd season opener. Notes From 44th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing from New Smyrna

 

Several part-time CRA Super Series teams competed in the Super Late Model events last week at New Smyrna including Jack Landis who finished 7th in points for the week. Also John Long who finished in 10th place. The #51 Kyle Busch Motorsports team with Alex Haase behind the wheel competed at the end of the week, they finished in 12th place in points after a second place finish to Jeff Choquette in the Pete Orr Memorial 100 Saturday night.  Click Here.

The Vore's Welding and Steel CRA FWD Compacts cars of JB Racing are being unveiled at the World of Wheels in Indianapolis this weekend.  The cars driven by Cary Abrell and Justin Brown will be on display during the course of the show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  Show times are February 12-14; Friday 5:00 -10:00 pm, Saturday  10:00 am - 10:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.

CRA Offers Condolences to McKarns Family

 

Everyone with CRA would like to offer our thoughts and prayers to the family of John McKarns who passed away today after a long illness. John was a short track racing icon who was well know for his accomplishments in the racing community. John was involved with late model racing as the owner of the old ARTGO Series, which was one of the premier late model touring series in the country under John. DENNIS SCHOENFELD PREPARES FOR 2010 “FRESH START”

 
(Van Buren, AR) Dennis has been busy preparing for a fresh start to the 2010 race season. “This off season we’ve taken a major swing at upgrading our race program from top to bottom,” Dennis said in a recent telephone interview. “Both race cars are in great shape needing only minor repairs. Our engines are in the final stages of refresh, one in Deland, FL where Tom Negrete and Koury Race Engines are completing our 9 to 1 motor and the other engine is going to McGunegill Engine Performance in Muncie, IN for some new blood. Our transmissions are out for rebuild, as are our rearends and we’ve added a new trailer, replacing the one I hand-built back in the ‘90’s. After nagging parts failures in three major races which took us out of contention, we decided to really go through everything with a fine tooth comb.”  Click Here.

 

Taylor Cable Products Returns To Sponsor CRA Street Stocks Again In 2010

Salem, IN (February 2, 2010) – Champion Racing Association officials have announced that Taylor Cable Products will return as a sponsor with the CRA Street Stocks for the upcoming 2010 race season. Taylor Cable Products will again award the second place finisher at each CRA Street Stock event during the 2010 season with a set of Thundervolt 50 wires. The Thundervolt 50 wires are a pre-terminated set designed to fit under the headers for a small block Chevy. They will come with 90-degree boots at both ends and will have the HEI type terminals for the distributor end. This is a 8.2mm, 50 ohms per foot performance wire set.  Click Here.
